The 354th Fighter Wing squadron was activated to increase the significance of the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) as a venue for high-end air combat training. Constituted as 354 Fighter Squadron, and activated, on 12 Nov 1942.

The 354th Fighter Wing has a long and distinguished history. Redesignated as 354 Tactical Fighter Squadron, and activated, on 13 Apr 1962.
