Thrush Hermit was formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1992 by Joel Plaskett (vocals, guitar), Rob Benvie (vocals, guitar), Ian McGettigan (vocals, bass), and Michael Catano (drums). Hermit Thrush, Hagg Lake, Washington Co., Oregon on 17 December, 2010 by Greg Gillson. The Hermit Thrush is the only spotted thrush expected in the Pacific NW in winter. It is indeed a huge state. 4,148 were here. They are about 6 inches long. Although it is found mostly in dense hardwood and mixed forests, young conifer forests, and forest openings, the Swainson's Thrush does not require as dense an understory as does the Veery. Hermit Thrushes are year-round residents in western Oregon.
