We are conveniently located off … At LoneStar (USA Icelandic Horse Breeders), we breed quality Icelandic horses for the American market that attempt to achieve the best conformation, temperament and talent that is possible with the breeding stallions available to us. Kaldakur is a small farm where we raise Icelandic Horses, Dexter Cattle and Mammoth Jackstock. The base color is black, white or moorit, each coming in a variety of shades and tones. The Icelandic cattle are a dairy cattle breed from Iceland which are primarily raised for milk production. Quality gaits must be supported by quality conformation.

The Icelandic cow is, like the Vikings related to the Nordic countries, most likely from Norway. It has been genetically isolated for centuries, but it is most closely related to the cattle breeds in Norway called Nordland and Blacksided Trender cattle. The colors of Icelandic sheep display more variety in color and pattern than most other breeds. The average weight of their fleece is 4-5 lbs.

Formerly located in Michigan, we are now located in the beautiful, rolling hills of the Outer Bluegrass Region of Northern Kentucky. The breed was first brought to the island during the Settlement of Iceland a thousand years ago.
