Crowley was born Fergus Roderick MacLeod in 1661 Scotland, his mother Rowena carried on an affair with a man above her social class, who soon abandoned her and Crowley once he was born. Fans have since learned Castiel will return to Supernatural next season, but Crowley will not be returning as a season regular. Sheppard responded by accusing Michaels of intentionally misleading fans, and stated bluntly that there were no plans for him to come back at any juncture. Rowena was a neglectful mother, preferring to drug the young Fergus with whiskey, rather than sing lullabies, even attempting to trade him for three pigs when he was a child. Supernatural returns this fall on The CW, where it will continue to air Thursdays at 8/7c — now as a lead-in to Season 6 of Arrow. Not long after Crowley exited Supernatural, there was a pretty provocative instance on Twitter where executive producer Jim Michaels hinted that both Crowley and Mark A. Sheppard might not be done with the series for good.
