Frogs must be able to move quickly through their environment to catch prey and escape predators, and numerous adaptations help them do so. The underside is white to cream, with some pinkish patches on the feet. Skin The northern leopard frog has also adapted its skin, so that it creates a camouflage to not be seen by other organisms. Northern (Rana [Lithobates] pipiens) and southern (Rana [Lithobates] sphenocephala) leopard frogs face a number of threats to their survival: they must capture enough food to live, find suitable habitat, avoid natural predators and avoid ending up on a human’s dinner plate -- leopard frogs are commonly consumed in the southeastern United States. Another physical adaptation of the leopard is that they have hooked claws. The leopard's last part of killing its pray is the deadly blow that comes from the cat’s teeth. Thos frog has a brownish-green color skin with clack spots that have a yellow ring around the edges. Jumping Frogs are generally recognized as exceptional jumpers, and the best jumper of all vertebrates. The ability to run rapidly and dash through its habitat is one of its adaptations. Sharp and strong teeth are another important physical adaptation.

Frog adaptations include specialized legs, feet, skin, eyes and body shape. Another interesting adaptation of a frog’s eyes is their location. One of the physical adaptations of a leopard is that they can run really fast. Different frogs have different adaptations, but generally frogs have eyes on the top of their head for seeing out of the water, a long, sticky tongue for capturing prey such as insects and sensitive skin for absorbing water and oxygen.

In some areas, leopard frogs are sympatric with pickerel frogs (Rana [Lithobates] palustris). In a phenomenon termed Batesian mimicry, the leopard frogs begin looking like the pickerel frogs. - animal that can do this is a leopard. Leopard frogs will eat just about anything they can fit in their mouths. The northern leopard frog lives 2 to 4 years in the wild. A group of frogs is called an army. The normally round spots of the leopard frog become square like those of the distasteful and similar-looking pickerel frog, which presumably deters predators. A leopard frog (sometimes called a meadow frog) can mean any frog of about 14 species within the true frog genus Lithobates. They are generally similarly colored—green with prominent black spotting that sometimes appears as a leopard pattern. They are distinguished by their distribution and certain rather subtle ecological, behavioral, morphological and genetic traits.
